Chronic Wasting Disease update

Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) has been confirmed in B.C. in the Kootenay Region.

As a result, submission for mandatory CWD testing is required for all deer, elk and moose harvested in management units 4-1 to 4-8 and 4-20 to 4-25 (PDF, 840KB) within one week of harvest. Samples must be dropped off at a designated drop-off location within the CWD Management Zone as a condition of a hunting licence.

Details, including drop-off locations for testing, can be found on the Chronic Wasting Disease surveillance and testing page.

CWD test results are available at CWD test results.
